Tony Cook

Tony is a longtime resident of North Toronto who enjoys working in various art forms, including painting/sketching, woodcarving, photography and computer graphics.

He studied watercolour painting with Ruth Hayes at the Fairlawn Community Centre, later with Barry Coombs.  He has taken workshops with Hi Sook Barker, Art Cunanan, Doug Mays, and Herry Arafin.

Tony includes acrylic painting in his repertoire, and studied with the famed Canadian non-objective painter, Lila Lewis Irving.

He also works in various mediums, such as alcohol ink, poured acrylics as well as pen and wash sketching. He actively paints en plein air.

“I am not a painter of realism, preferring to interpret the natural world in both an abstract/impressionist and non-objective fashion.”.
