Joan McGivney

Toronto native, Joan Hon.F.A, U of T taught H.S. Art for many years. She has been painting full time, mainly in oils  since 2004. Her themes consist of  landscape, the human form and florals. Joan’s paintings investigate the dynamics of light and shadow on her subjects in a painterly style, somewhere between realism and impressionism.

Joan exhibits locally with the NTGA and with several other groups, and has been in both solo and group shows in local galleries and venues. She is on the executive of the NTGA, North York Visual Artists and the Bayview Art Tour. She  teaches an oil class for beginners at the Artbarn. Her work is in many private collections.
