Although Lisa has worked in many mediums, she now primarily works in oil as she loves oil's transparent beauty and versatility.
Originally from the west of Ireland, painting has always been Lisa’s passion. She grew up close to the ocean, a river and wide expanses of bog. As a result, the themes of water and the light run through many of Lisa's works, and are favourite subjects to paint. The intersection of water and land, and the influence one has on the other -- the light, the space and the undiscovered possibilities -- have always fascinated her.
Lisa is motivated to record the effect the landscape has on her, and to share those impressions of wonder and joy with the viewer.
